The three refuges are no access for any reason from September 1 through November 30. Their purpose is to provide areas where migrating waterfowl can rest and feed and not be disturbed by human activity. They are posted with yellow refuge signs.

The only exception for entry is for the 9-day gun deer hunting season. Hunters may enter the refuge areas if they are actively hunting deer. No scouting is allowed.
